Georgetown Penang

Georgetown

Pearl Of Island

With a long and illustrious history under its belt, Penang’s capital city is one of the most interesting and colourful cities in Malaysia. Named after King George III, walking down the streets of Georgetown is like walking through the paths of history.

In 2008 UNESCO listed Georgetown as World Heritage Site because of the many original colonial (Chinese style) shop houses. Besides the many beautiful historical buildings; Georgetown also has many modern highrise buildings that often contains big shopping malls. In and around Georgetown there are many fun attractions that are absolutely worthy of a visit.
